Knowledge Transfer

What is knowledge transfer?  Knowledge transfer is the process of making sure that our customers have all the necessary information that is wanted or needed about the systems, tools, or technologies that Mercurion Systems implements.  Knowledge transfer is ensuring that the customer isn't getting an unknown "black box" solution, but a solution that is known and understood, at least at a basic level.

Knowledge transferMercurion Systems isn't in the business of making our customers dependent upon us by implementing technologies and products that the customers have no capability to maintain on a daily basis.  We don't view that as a sound business strategy.  Instead, we prefer to build and nurture relationships with our customers that allow us to more fully understand their IT needs and build solutions to meet those needs.

Knowledge transfer is a critical and integral part of that process.  It is also a critical and integral part of how Mercurion Systems operates.  Mercurion Systems ensures knowledge transfer in at least three ways:

  • Thorough documentation;
  • Extensive customer involvement; and
  • Hands-on training throughout the duration of the project.

Internal tools, such as our knowledge management system, also assist in our ability to ensure that knowledge transfer occurs.  In the end, when the project is finished, you--the customer--will feel better about the project because you were involved and informed.  Your satisfaction with our services is our goal, and knowledge transfer is another way for us to help reach that goal.
